Trusted Driver ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data processed through the trusteddriver.co.uk platform. We are based in the United Kingdom and comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone, company, role.
- Driver verification: driving licence, insurance certificates, vehicle details.
- Job data: vehicle, collection/delivery addresses, photos, signatures, notes.
- Location data: GPS positions during active jobs (for live tracking and ETAs).
- Payment data: handled by our payment processor; we store only references.
- Technical data: IP, device, browser, log and analytics events.
3. How we use your data
To operate the marketplace, match Dealers with Drivers, verify identity and insurance, process payments, provide live tracking and proof of delivery, prevent fraud, send account and transactional emails, and improve the service.
4. Account-related contact
By creating an account you consent to receive emails essential to the service — account verification, job updates, messages, receipts, security alerts, and policy changes. Marketing emails are optional and can be unsubscribed from at any time.
5. Sharing
We share necessary job details between Dealers and Drivers matched on a job (e.g. addresses, vehicle, contact). We use trusted processors for hosting, email, payments, mapping, and analytics. We never sell your personal data.
6. Retention
We retain account and job records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, email privacy@trusteddriver.co.uk. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep your account safe.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be notified by email or in-app.
